Gordon orders flags at half-staff for former Superintendent of Public Instruction Lynn Simons

CHEYENNE – Gov. Mark Gordon has ordered both the U.S. and state of Wyoming flags to fly at half-staff statewide from Thursday until sundown on Saturday, Sept. 6 in honor and memory of former Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Lynn Simons.

Simons served as superintendent of public instruction from 1979 until 1991. She passed away Aug. 30.

A memorial service for Simons will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 18 at First Christian Church, 219 W. 27th St. in Cheyenne.
