Honoring Dolly Parton
In accordance with a proclamation issued by President Donald Trump, Governor Tim Walz today ordered all United States and Minnesota flags to fly at half-staff at all state buildings in the State of Minnesota beginning immediately until sunrise on September 1, 2026, in honor and remembrance of Dolly Parton.
*“The world is a better place because of Dolly Parton,” *said Governor Walz. *“Dolly is an American icon who devoted her life to philanthropy and advocating fiercely for literacy and LGBTQ+ rights, often standing alone for what was right. Her music has touched millions across the globe, and Gwen and I extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, loved ones, and all else who mourn her passing.”*
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in lowering their flags to honor Dolly Parton’s life and legacy.
