HONOLULU — Governor Josh Green, M.D., has ordered that the United States flag and the Hawaiʻi state flag be flown at half-staff at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol and at all state offices and agencies, as well as the Hawaiʻi National Guard in the state of Hawaiʻi, from sunrise to sunset on Thursday, September 11, to mark Patriot Day. On September 11, 2001, nearly three thousand civilian and first responder lives were taken far too soon. With thousands more injured, the effects of the 9/11 attacks have left a lasting impact on our nation and the precious communities damaged by this tragedy. Separately, at the direction of the President of the United States, Governor Green has ordered that the United States flag and the Hawaiʻi state flag be flown at half-staff at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol at all state offices and agencies as well as the Hawaiʻi National Guard in the state of Hawaiʻi effective immediately through sunset on Sunday, September 14, in memory of Charlie Kirk.
